About Me

My photo
I'm a busy mom of two very active boys and and married to a wonderful husband and love of my life. I work in social services. But what's really awesome, is that I can blend my love the law and working with people with disabilities. But my true passion is writing, which helps me make sense of my world.

Question

Today, I should be working. But I'm proscratining...why do I procrastinate? Why am I trying to avoid working and taking care of important business.

I have lots of things on my mind today...It's very cold outside and I wish we could move to a warmer climate. Sometimes I feel like I'm missing out when I think about some of my friends who left Cleveland. Do they have a better life b/c the weather is warmer? Do they have a better life b/c their city have more opportunities? Am I really missing out because I live in NE Ohio?

Okay...time to work...

Sherita, I don't know why people procrastinate. My husband is a procrastinator. It drives me crazy at times. I am a jump up and get it done kind of person, but I will say that since I do not work anymore I am also a procrastinator. I think with me is that it will always be there for me to get it done. When I worked I had a time line and now I don't.

I also want so bad to move to a warmer climate (Georgia, Kentucky) not to hot. But I have family here. My kids and grandchildren. I am a family orninated person and I will never move unless they all can go too. I do think that Cleveland is a sucky city. Some like it but I do not. I think there are alot more opportunities else where. Especially if you have degrees. Of course you would have to go to a bigger city to make the money. This town is just getting slummier by the day. It seems like no one cares here anymore and they are all in their own little world. Further south people are friendlier in general. Some people are afraid of change that is why they stay where they are comfortable. I don't believe that you are the one afraid of change but some that you are associated with would be (if you get my drift) LOL.

Well I diffently do not think that I helped in anyway but it was nice to sit here a type on your blog. LMAO. Hopefully I will get better at it. Good Luck

Hum let me see if I can help:

Q. Do they have a better life since its warmer?
A. When its not HOT - yes.. and of course you don't have to deal with all the work that come with living in snow. But then again.. we get Hurricanes, flooding and torrential rain falls.

Q. Opportunities?
A. Depends on the city... b/c all the best (American) cities that don't have cold weather (not even a smidgen) are either in southern FL, or California...otherwise opportunities can be limited to your experience and willingness to achieve.

Q. Missing out b/c u live I N/E Ohio...
A. Honestly.. NO! Because people are crabby, rude, selfish and just annoying no matter where you go. There is some of every type of people everywhere... good or bad.

You know that because I'm a transplant of 8 years i still have a difficult time with the cultural differences. But i try to make the most of it. Remember how good i feel every time I come home? Its natural and easy, because i don't have constantly be mentally preoccupied with being sensitive to the subtle cultural difference and social cues. Think about it, there's a reason why my closest friends are all transplants too!

Ultimately I've come to understand that "every" experience is what you make it and how you react to it. If yo expect the worse the you'll get the worse, if you expect the best then mediocrity is unexceptionable. Yes I've been givin opportunities, but i honestly believe in my heart that I'd have the same opportunities no matter where I'm at because it me!

I just think that you're having three things: Cabin fever (this is February), SADD... like when was the last time you seen the sun... and anxiousness to get out at the end of the month. It explains the procrastination and apathy. Lets see where your at in the spring! :0D

@Sharon, you're absolutely right. I do miss the sun and warm weather. I absolutely love Cleveland in the summer. There's so much color, life and fun activities for families.

I'm also looking forward to our vacation at the end of the month!

@Judy, thanks so much for your comments and you're right. I totally understand what you mean about moving and being afraid of change. But I think one day things will change.

As far as living in Cleveland, this place has certainly changed. I've always hoped for the better for Cleveland, but as long as we have the "good ole boy" system running Cuyahoga County this city will go to the dogs :0)

For the love of flowers
I have recently discovered my love for taking pics of flowers. This was taken in a small garden in Indiana...
